I faced near-complete loss of critical business email history (since the saved on-disk POP Mailboxes were much more complete than the IMAP history on Google's servers). This did in fact help Mojave Mail finish an import – but it severely compromised import of the POP Mailboxes.

I was careful to move the Mail Library to the desktop during this procedure, then afterwards move it back to the hidden Library directory. Finally, in desperation, I deleted and rebuilt the POP Internet Account. The idea of deleting and rebuilding Internet Accounts inside System Prefs made me nervous, so I saved that as a last resort. I carefully attempted virtually every fix described in this now-6-page thread, with advice and support from every smart IT person in my circle. However, Mojave Mail repeatedly hung when importing the High Sierra Mail Library – always when it began importing the "Sent" POP Mailbox. And admittedly my Mail Library is ginormous, containing over 10 years of business email history. (Smartest possible attempts to downgrade it to HS were thwarted by latest Apple firmware.)Īdmittedly I have a somewhat eclectic Apple Mail setup – with both POP and IMAP Mailboxes for a primary Gmail address.

I was handed, for free, a blingy new 2018 MacBook Pro that can only run Mojave. I was recently strong-armed into upgrading to OS Mojave, when Apple failed multiple times on a simple repair to my 2016 MacBook Pro running OS High Sierra.

I find it all very annoying and wish they'd pay close attention to Mac again and return to focusing on the customer rather than whatever their distraction-of-the-day may be. My experience with Apple is that this small stuff is of no interest to them, entirely fitting with my theory that they've failed to scale the Mac computer side of the company as the company has grown. There are several little quirks in the latest version of Safari, evident if you visit YouTube and attempt to use the video playing interface. I'm currently trying to sort out with a developer what Apple did to break the Command-C command when using ANY version of CopyPaste Pro. There have been some quirky little behind-the-scenes changes to macOS in 10.14.4 that have broken various things.

I recall that fiddling around in the Mail app itself solved nothing. I then went back to the same setting again and added my Gmail account with address and password. I went to System Preferences/Internet Accounts, highlighted my Gmail account and deleted it with the minus (-) sign. During beta testing of 10.14.4 I ran into the inability to log into Gmail. I like the user interface after not having it, I appreciate it's convenience even more now.Īdditionally: Does anybody have a feature rich email app (like mail or better?) that is handling both mail and gmail post 14.4? I'm interested. I'm hoping a fix will be coming soon and I can get back to apple mail to get and send my gmail. I just thought I would share my findings for those who can use the info. But everything is there and there is no loss of my critical info.īut it stands to reason that if an app can send and receive mail, then the apple mail app is the culprit. The user interface is totally different and I don't get it yet. My workaround for now is a downloaded of the Google Mail app from the App Store. However the gmail/mail seemed back online, but only halfway, the problem is I do not get ANY new mail.

That removed the warnings and I thought I was back in business. I deleted the google account in my system preferences/internet accounts. I have tried all the suggestions in this thread.
